Do you have an empty workstation in your salon? Would you like an extra colleague without the hassle of having employees? Consider renting out a workstation. By renting a spot to a self-employed Hairdresser, you can get the best out of each other. The self-employed Hairdresser gets space in an established salon with the equipment to run their business, and you get a new colleague who pays to be based with you.
There isn't a single answer, but here are some good places to look:
Renting out a workstation can also be brilliant if you're thinking about renewing your salon. Let's say you have 5 workstations and you've fallen in love with a Styling chair, but it's out of your budget. By renting out a spot, you can often earn much more than it costs to finance the new chairs.
So you could buy furniture for 50.000 kr. and have your new colleague pay for it. Not literally, of course – the self-employed person has to pay you and you have to buy the furniture.
Short answer: no. All leasing companies, banks, etc. have to credit-approve you before you can borrow money. They do this to protect their funds as best as possible, but also to help you avoid signing up for something you can't maintain.
Remember to make a contract between you and the self-employed person. For both parties' sake. As long as you're good friends there may be no problems, but a contract that both respect helps protect you both if you disagree and choose to end the collaboration. P.S. remember to specify that you are not employing the self-employed person. They are simply paying you to use the space.
If you can get more money in "rent" or "chair rental" from a self-employed Hairdresser than it costs you to buy new furniture, it’s practically free for you to buy the new furniture. Use your empty space as an opportunity to bring in a self-employed professional and increase traffic to your salon while you buy your dream furniture.
